BatPost 3.0: Ideal Mail Server – at Your Service!

Ritlabs, SRL announces the launch of a new version of BatPost mail server

Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, 15.2.2010 – Ritlabs, SRL, developer of the popular email client The Bat!, today announces BatPost 3.0. BatPost is an easy-to-customize mail server for corporate and individual users. Its usability and maintainability have already become its trademark. BatPost server is a perfect solution for providing company’s employees with corporate email addresses and setting up internal message exchange system.

Developers have significantly extended the program’s functionality since the previous release. Relay servers, signed mail dispatch receipts, secure connection, message base volume, remote configuration – innovations in these and other spheres are meant to improve user parameters of mail processing.

BatPost 3.0 was equipped with multi-relay option: relay servers are selected according to sender and recipient of the message. This new feature is helpful for those who use BatPost as an email collector to receive messages from various free mail services. Since such servers usually permit message sending only from their mailboxes, each of them is provided with its own relay server. For example, if the sender’s domain is gmail.com, then smtp.gmail.com is selected; for hotmail.com BatPost will select smtp.hotmail.com, etc.

Another important innovation are signed mail dispatch receipts that can prove the fact that a specific message was sent and came through mail server. Timestamps give authentic information about the time and date of such dispatch. This feature is described in detail in a special press-release.

Security has always been a strong point of Ritlabs, SRL software, and BatPost is not an exception. In the new version of the program developers have implemented secure connections for relay servers and for Remote POP connections. Thereby, BatPost 3.0 can carry out each and every user interaction with the exterior through secure channels. Mail server provides the highest level of security – messages are never exposed as plain text, protecting users from intruders and mail traffic robots.

In BatPost 3.0 restrictions on message base volume are removed. Now mail folder size can considerably exceed 2Gb and users should not worry about overflow.

Developers have also optimized remote configuration protocol. Renewed mechanism permits fulfilling all operations much faster even to users with low-speed channel.

Moreover, in BatPost 3.0 user folder tree can be edited directly from Configurator. Through “Content by referral” users can create shared folders. Access rights to such folders can also be assigned.
