The Bat! plugin for Google Desktop, anyone?, [a possibility of]

Hello everyone,

Since Goodle provides a nice Google Desktop Search API for creating third-party search cartridges for additional types of data/files, an obvious question question rises.

Is there a possibility to make The Bat! mail archives (message bodies + attachments) available for external indexing? That could be some sort of real-time feeder/dumper, closely resembling similar tool for Miranda IM (http://addons.miranda-im.org/details.php?action=viewfile&id=1965).

Natively, GDS supports indexing of MS Outlook *.pst files, and some additional mail client bridges available as well (http://desktop.google.com/plugins)

It think this is a viable idea.

Any thoughts?

regards,
Vladimir

This would be a great plug-in.

This plugin already exists. It works quite well even if for me, I don't know why, not all the directories are indexed.

Quite slow to download but it works.

Let me know what do you think about it

i installed this and for some reason it does not index any of  my emails. it is installed as it shows up in the prefs for google desktop. any ideas on maybe the location that it is searching that my files are not in ???

thanks

The only thing I can think of (I don't use it myself) is that you've got to configure the plug-in what folders you want it to index.
Did you try that at
Otions -> Preferences -> Plug-ins -> (Select plug-in) -> Configure
