%HEADER("Delivered-To")) is not working in filter

%HEADER("Delivered-To")) is not working in filter in forum The Bat! - Filters.
Hi. I need help with this problem.
I use the following filter to sort received emails:
====code====

\\lk-lk\Data\Archiv-Sorted\acc_%ReplaceRegExp("[\.\+\-]","_",%ReplaceRegExp("@","_",%OTOADDR))\Incoming\%ODATE="yyyy"\%ReplaceRegExp("[\.\+\-]","_",%ReplaceRegExp(".*@","",%FromAddr))\%ReplaceRegExp("[\.\+\-]","_",%ReplaceRegExp("@.*","",%FromAddr))

=============
but it causes the problem that "%OTOADDR" takes the email fr om the original recipient of the message. So when the message is forwarded, the original recipient is displayed.

Gradually I came to the point where I modified the filter like this:
====code====

\\lk-lk\Data\Archiv-Sorted\acc_%ReplaceRegExp("[\.\+\-]","_",%ReplaceRegExp("@","_",%HEADER("Delivered-To")))\Incoming\%ODATE="yyyy"\%ReplaceRegExp("[\.\+\-]","_",%ReplaceRegExp(".*@","",%FromAddr))\%ReplaceRegExp("[\.\+\-]","_",%ReplaceRegExp("@.*","",%FromAddr))

=============
Where should I replace "%HEADER("Delivered-To"))" with the real end recipient.

But for some reason it doesn't work. Or rather it doesn't work only in filters, because when I enter the same filter in the templates to test it, it displays correctly.

Wh ere am I making a mistake?

Tested on version 12.

I am attaching the header of the email I am trying to process (I have changed the delivery emails).

How to set up filter for multiple keywords in "any" field?

			Which one of the options lets me filter and add to a color group emails containing ANY one of multiple words, such as "Sunnova", "Kroll", etc.?

I don't care whether the words are in the sender or any email, subject, text, or partial, such as Sunnova.com in any email address, etc. I want them all, obviously with minimal work on my part.

Thanks!
Do any of you know if the newest version of TB supports Regexes in filters and if not, might there be any plans to do so in the future. This feature would be great help to me.

Can I use macro in Sorting Office rule?

Can I use macro in Sorting Office rule? in forum The Bat! - Filters.
Simple version - Just for testing:

  In a sorting rule - I forward the message to %CCLIST
  Thus anyone on the CC of the original message should get another forwarded copy
  This doesn't work for me.
  Result: Outbox has the message with
       To %CCLIST

I have a much more advanced and practical use for this ... but first I need to know that I can actually use macros in the sorting rules

Currently on Windows 11 with The Bat! 10.0.10 (32-bit). .... I fear upgrading to current version in case other stuff breaks but if that's the issue, I'll have to consider it.

Thank you for any insight!

P.S. I'm sure this has been answered many times --- I thought I was capable at figuring search terms but I could not find an answer. Sorry if this newbie question is annoying.
I got the below directions how to make all messages read in the Trash folder

====quote====
Create a new filter with the condition "Any message" and action "Flags -> Mark the message as read", then switch to the "Folder" tab and select the Trash folder only, save changes.

=============

but where is such functionality for a folder?
Who's in charge, The Bat or I?

Who's in charge, The Bat or I? in forum The Bat! - Filters.
Overall The Bat works as expected.
However there are a few unexpected things that have been occurring.

The first was the disappearing messages that I discussed in another thread.

The Bat decided a while ago, on its own, to create 'Analyze' sub-folders for a couple of accounts.
I don't know why it created them nor do I know what it is analyzing?

Inside these 'Analyze' folders it decided, on its own, to create even more sub-folders!
I just noticed yesterday that when I reply to an e-mail that finds itself inside one of these sub-sub-folders,
the reply isn't found inside the Sent folder (which is standard for all my other accounts, and logical).
Rather, the reply is found inside the same sub-sub-folder, along with the original e-mails I am replying to!
So the Incoming and Sent e-mails are MIXED together in the same folder!

So as the title asks, Who is in charge, The Bat or I?
Who decides which folders my e-mails go to?
And who decides which folders are created, The Bat or I?

Outgoing mail filter to change the active account

Outgoing mail filter to change the active account outgoing mail filter that will change the active account to the one set up for the sender's domain in forum The Bat! - Filters.
Hello,

I'm using The Bat! Pro 9.5.1 x64 under Windows 7 Pro (fully patched).

I own numerous domains, two of which I'll call dom1.com and dom2.com.

When I write a message as <noindex>user@dom1.com</noindex>, I would like it to be sent by the dom1.com account so that when the message is received, it is not signaled as spam. (I have checked this, and it works.) Of course, if I'm paying attention, before I hit the Send button, I can change the Active Account in the bottom of the Edit Mail Message window, but I often forget this critical step.

My idea, then, is to create a filter that uses RegEx to determine the sender's domain and change the active account to the one created for that domain. So, the message written by <noindex>user@dom1.com</noindex> would be sent by the Active Account for dom1.com.

Can an outgoing filter do this? If not, is there any way I can display a message before any message is sent to check the Active Account?

regards, AndyA

The Bat! does not save my filters!

The Bat! does not save my filters! Filters are lost more than once in forum The Bat! - Filters.
Hi,

recently (I use the latest version of TheBat!) all of my filters had gone missing! All of a sudden and without any warnings. I hag a lot of them, accumulated through the years........

I tried an option to "restore filters", and got my filters back under "orphan filters". They would not work (I did "re-filter after editing" and got nothing), and once I close the sorting office and open it again, they would be gone.

I found that I could press Ctrl+X at an orphan filter, go to "Incoming mail" and press Ctrl+V. This seemed to put the filter back. Even though, at Ctrl+X I got an "Access violation" errors (see <noindex>screenshot</noindex>).

But, regardless of whether the filters were in orphan folder, or whether I put them all back, they would be gone if I close and reopen the sorting office.

* * *

One of these days, I found time, spent a few hours, and manually recreated every single one of the filters I needed.

It worked for a few days. Today, the filters are gone again. The same story about orphan filters happened a few times. Eventually, sorting office started saying that there are no orphan filters at all.

* * *

I can spend another few hours and recreate the filters, manually, the second time. But, what it they will be gone again?

Please help!
I've created filters and would like these to apply to any new accounts that I add, without having to go into the sorting office and opting to 'select all' each time. Is this possible? Is there a way that I can configure to 'select all' for common filters by default? Or is there a workaround that can be done that provides a similar outcome?

I'm looking to use The Bat! to manage numerous email address that I use for testing purposes. I have a set of filters (e.g. if email fr om X send to Y) that help me to consolidate and process the important emails. Over time I will need to continue to add new accounts (using command line) and I would like the filters that I have already set-up to automatically be applied to these new accounts.

Filtering UI thoughts. Improvements Things I would like to see added in Filtering in forum The Bat! - Filters.
I have 723 Incoming filters and 713 Outgoing filters. (Been using TheBat! for a LONG time )

When I need to edit a filter, I use the search box at the top. If I inadvertently hit enter after entering the search criteria, (the same way I do with quick search at the message list window) the filtering window closes. I would like the enter key to start the search instead of closing the filtering window.

After having searched for a filter that is more than 50 or so filters in, and not quite all the way to the bottom of the navigation pane, I can not tell if I am looking at an Incoming Filter or an Outgoing filter without scrolling ALL THE WAY to the top or bottom to see which tree I am in. I would like some indication in the Nav Bar, OR in the body of the filter edit window, that tells me if I am working on an incoming or our going filter.

When I am creating a new filter, I have to copy and paste, then edit the new filter in order to have the same filter for outgoing. I create incoming filters first, but the opposite would be true if you create the outgoing filter first. I would like a button in the Filter edit menus that allows me to "Save and Create Reciprocal Filter". OR; If the software knows I am creating an incoming filter, the button could say "Save and Create Matching Outgoing Filter", or "Save and Create Matching Incoming Filter" if you were creating an out going filter. All this button needs to do is copy the filter to the outgoing part of the tree, and change the "Sender" to "Recipient". If you were creating a filter based on Subject, the software would create the reciprocal filter, but make no changes.

If you titled the button as "Save and Create Matching Reciprocal Filter", you would only need one button, the software would know to create the opposite filter.

In Summary:
1) Change the ENTER behavior from the Filtering Search box
2) Provide a visual indication of the type of filter "Incoming" or "Outgoing" when the Nav Bar headers are not visible
3) Add a "Save and Create Matching Reciprocal Filter"

Thanks for listening!

Filter includes assigning the email to a color group: inconsistent

Filter includes assigning the email to a color group: inconsistent After moving to a folder, the filter applies my color group specs in some accounts but not others in forum The Bat! - Filters.
I have not seen the Color Groups element of TB described here in great detail, if it has, I'd be happy to be wrong so as to read it.

I have successfully included custom color group assignments to filters. These are working on some accounts but not on my local files from a yahoo account. Is there a step I am missing or some other condition of a yahoo account that would make it ignore the color group assignment of the filter?

Thank you.
Hi, when trying to apply Date of filter condition, there is an error message. Old filters with Date of filter also give the same error message when trying to edit the filter. Is this a bug?
Version 9.3.1.
<noindex>https://photos.app.goo.gl/BxCTTManmWQtsjaQ6</noindex>

Virtual Folder not Recognizing TAGS

Virtual Folder not Recognizing TAGS Virtual Folder not Recognizing TAGS in forum The Bat! - Filters.
I read a post yesterday that got me thinking I could benefit from tags instead of marking messages as unread.

Today I embarked on this super simple task, with failure

I have created a Virtual Folder called "Needs Reply".
I have created a Tag called "Needs Reply" and colored it RED.
I chose a message I need to reply to and I TAGged it as Needs Reply.
I added the TAGS column to the message list and have confirmed the message is tagged.

In my virtual folder, I have this setup for filtering:

Advanced Filtering Checked
Auto Refresh
Store state between sessions
Any Message *
AND Tags match any of Needs Reply

And the Needs Reply Virtual Folder does not populate.

For testing, I created a new TAB below the message list with the same Advanced Filter criteria and it works perfectly.

Any suggestions?

Precedence of AND and OR Conditions

Precedence of AND and OR Conditions in forum The Bat! - Filters.
Although I couldn't find it documented, it appears that when adding filter conditions AND has a higher precedence than OR. This makes sense and is consistent with Boolean algebra and most programming languages. As a result, the AND only applies to operand C in the following:
A OR B OR C AND D
and it would be necessary to change it to the following to also apply the AND to A and B:
A AND D OR B AND D OR C AND D
Is there a way in TB to parenthesize A OR B OR C (or do something equivalent) so the AND D part doesn't have to be repeated? For example, something like the following:
(A OR B OR C) AND D

Thanks!
