Good morning,
Recently after updating The Bat! from the Halloween edition to the current v10.5.3 64 bit version, the macro %ToFname has stopped inserting the name of the person from the recepiuent field of a new email message.  I went as far as removing the macro items.from the new mail template,saving, exiting & restarting but cannot get this to begin inserting the recpeient's first name into a new email message.  The macros in a reply message appear to be working ok.

I've been looking through available TB macros, and I can't figure this one out: I would like to tell TB to do this: "When performing Reply-To, never include these two e-mail addresses among the recipients." Is this possible?

Motivation: the mail server has two alias e-mail addresses that point to the same inbox of my main address. So, when someone sends me a message to one of the alias addresses and I do a Reply-To, the reply will also be sent to myself (the alias address) unless I manually delete it from the recipients, of course.

I can think of a workaround: create a filter which detects such replies of mine and deletes them upon arrival. But, is it possible to tell TB not to send such messages to my alias addresses at all?

z0mbies Macros are very old, made in 2004, it appears they don't work anymore, I don't know why.
I tried with theBat v10.4.0.1 32bit and 64bit

I was mainly interested in the SKIPLINE function. Any idea how to implement that ?
SKIPLINE inputs a text, a string, and outputs the text after removing all lines containing the passed string.
From z0mbie's help file :

I created a template with images, when I sent it per mail it works perfectly, but when I'm trying to mass mail with the same template my images are not showing, even though I choose html in every option and preference possible

Also images are shown when there are several addresses in "to", but not when I send them to outlook to send them personally to every address

I'm the developer of this small tool so let me apologize right away for (ab-) using this forum. I thought maybe it's permissible since Auto Book is specifically designed for use with The Bat - in fact, it was The Bat that gave me idea to develop this tool in the first place.

Via the "Exectute" filter action in The Bat and Macros (such as %Text), Auto Book can receive email data from The Bat when a hotkey is triggered and then automatically extract the needed information and store them in simple tab-separated text files.

The typical use case is capturing purchase order information from emails: Instead of manually copying and pasting the needed data (such as client, date, PO number, amount, etc.) into a bookkeeping system, Auto Book extracts and stores these data automatically when the user presses a hotkey. It is also possible to automatically create and open project folders based on the information that was captured (e.g. clientname\date.PO-number etc.). This way, when receiving a project from a regular client, the user can start work immediately without losing time for overhead tasks. There is also a convenient data viewer included with useful functions such as summation.

The problem is that it then creates domain and mailboxes that contain a dot as another subfolder.

Does anyone know how I can modify the rule so that the messages are correctly saved according to the original format...

I upgraded recently to 9.51 and noticed that suddenly I can't use the Keyboard shortcuts I have been using 10-15 years.


I use the plain text editor, and when you use shortcuts like CTRL+B, or CTRL+U



You can assign these "Editor Shortcuts" in Quick Templates.

In Microsoft Word there is a tool for Mail Merge,

Basically you take your spreadsheet with all the contacts for example:

Email-Address                   Subject                    BodyText

and you can use Outlook to send out some emails using your spreadsheet.

Does anyone have an idea how to use The Bat this way?

how can I achieve that a folder automatically uses the message templates from its parent folder (unless individual message templates are defined for that folder)?

Currently when I create a new (sub)folder, the message templates are "inherited" from the "root" folder (or from the account), not from the parent folder.

under "templates", "New message", "Format", the option "Justify on autowrap" is checked by default. I am trying to uncheck it (both under "account properties" and "Inbox properties") but it seems impossible. I uncheck it, click OK, reopen the "New message" > "Format", the check is again there. Ditto for "Reply" and "Forward". What should I do?

Hi all - just trying out Bat, I like it but already see a quirk. When I set Format to 'HTML' in a new template I make, it apparently keeps it, but when I then go to compose new email with that template, the format defaults to 'Plain' and I have to still choose HTML manually. This is tedious and is not something you have to do in Thunderbird, for example. How do you get the format to stick when composing from a template?



Also I'm trying to paste graphics here to show, but they are showing blank frames. Any trick to that? I'm going to leave them pasted in here in the chance you can see them.  Thanks!

I am looking for a macro capable of automatically placing the part of the email address preceding the domain name. (i.e. without @tagada.fr in my example)
I can do it with names:
%IF:"%OTONAME"="%OTOADDR":"%OTOADDR":"%OTONAME <%OTOADDR>"

but I don't know how to do it with parts of the address. Anyone know?

I have a case, where I need my manager's address to be added to the CC field every time I press reply/reply to all AND if it is not there already.

Below is the code I've come up to

It works if there are none of addresses in CC. Or if there is only 1 e-mail address in CC.
The problem is it doesn't work in case there are couple of e-mail addresses in the CC field. If there are couple of addresses it will add mng@adress.com in any case.

So the question would be, how should I write the expression so it looks for and finds mng@adress.com even within the list of many e-mail addresses.
