It asks whether you want to save the view mode, because you've configured it that way. (It might be the default.)
You can change that setting at:
Options -> Preferences -> Message list -> View modes -> When view mode was changed: ask/ignore/save
I've configured it to ignore changes

I've been wondering how to turn that popup off?
Why TheBat needs to save my view mode?

IMO if it wants so much to save it, let him do it automatically for each folder.
I often need one folder sorted by name, one by date, one by sender, etc.

Also, often when I shut off Windows 7 I found that it stops shutting down processes
because it waits for me to confirm TheBat's nag about saving view mode changes.

I'm (still) using 4.2.44.2 version
