Reading Confirmation option in The Bat

Reading Confirmation option in The Bat Does the mail log record whether this option was used when sending an e-mail? in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Thanks Roelof, you answered my question completely.

Like you, I have my reading confirmation disabled for incoming mail, but I will acknowledge an E-mail with my own reply, if that is appropriate.

For specific outgoing mail I will occasionally use the "confirm receipt" and "confirm reading" options when the recipient has a history of claiming not to have received an e-mail from me, or its essential I know it was delivered. Some companies have very aggressive SPAM filters and sometimes one of my e-mail addresses, which has a very address (xxx@xxxxx.com), will be rejected as spam.

Thanks again Roelof.
Go to Sent Mail (or wherever you stored the sent message)
Sel ect the message
Press Ctrl-Shift-K (this enables you to see the message headers, the same key combo toggles the view off)
Look between the message headers for:
X-Confirm-Reading-To: your address
This is the request for a reading confirmation
Disposition-Notification-To: your address
This is the request for a delivery notification (this is ignored by most servers and clients, so a reading confirmation is your best bet)

As I said, receipt confirmations are very rare, so you'd best forget about them. Reading confirmation are routinely ignored by lots of people, my client is set to ignore them completely and I'm not the only one.
The last message I sent with a X-Confirm-Reading-To: was sent to six people with in the text also the request to confirm receipt and still I got only three automatic confirmations. (All fr om MS Outrlook ussers)
So don't expect 100% reading confirmations, the only thing I can promise you is that you won't get 100%. Some people consider the fact if and when they read your message to be privacy sensitive.

Reading Confirmation option in The Bat

Reading Confirmation option in The Bat Does the mail log record whether this option was used when sending an e-mail? in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
I find the "Reading Confirmation" and "Confirm receipt" options very useful when I need to be certain that an e-mail I've sent was addressed correctly, or just confirmation the recipient has read it. I use this sparingly.

Sometimes I don't receive any confirmation and I suspect I forgot to enable these two options for a particular e-mail.

My question is: Is it possible for me to establish within The Bat's logs, etc, whether I actually used these options for a specific e-mail.

Thanks for any advice.

Chris
