While helping some body I got this idea that might help too.

Create a new account, enter whatever account properties you like, Close TB.
Now copy all files (and directories) from your original account to the directory of your new account. When you start TB it should have your original account properties back.
That your 1.53b version says it's unregistered is correct, it needs a different registration key than v2 or v3 (every version having its own type of key)

What happens when you unstall all TB versions on your system (don't let it wipe your message base, better yet, first make a back-up of that message base) and install v3 again and point it to the old accounts.

This should be failsafe, I've done it regularly myself when I was having problems with some beta versions.
I didn't do anything strange. Only shut down the pc and switch on the day after.
When I try to restore the old accounts creating a new(s) one TB isn't able to recover the previus data even I use the same name, data,...

I tryed to remove the installation of TB and it found a previus version (1.53b) that work properly but in evaluation mode.
That's odd, did you do anything special, like restoring a previously made recovery point or something like that?

The best way to restore your account(s) is to create new account and give it the same name as it/they had before, TB will pick-up the right data.
When you didn't use the default mail directory (and v2 uses a different default than v3) first point it to your actual mail directory. (TB will ask for it)
