Thanks for your efforts.  I have abandoned this product, as it is unusable, and there is no reply from developers.  I hope that you find a solution.

I have the same problem after upgrading from 5.1.12 to 5.1.6.2. Don't know why and I've made a new post to try to find out.

I'm running version 5.1.6.2 on Windows XP Pro.  I'm seeing very slow display of messages when I switch mailboxes.  I have to wait many seconds for any messages to appear. I also find that thebat.exe consumes 50% of CPU and remains running even after I exit from the application.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
