Voyager: mysterious unread mail

Voyager: mysterious unread mail in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Thank you, Roelof!

I have found out the reason for this strange behavior (and your last assumption is right): the tray icon registers the presence of "unread mail" in some folders, created automatically by Gmail: Important, Spam and Trash.

The ticker says "0 new messages", because it only looks in the Inbox.

The question is: why would the tray icon reflect Trash and Spam folders (quite illogical) – and how can this behavior be corrected?

Kind Regards,
PTs
Would those messages be in a folder that isn't checked by the ticker? You can check that in the folder properties.
Dear Roelof,

I did what you suggested and now Voyager reports 116 unread messages, while the ticker says "0 new messages".

Kind Regards,
PTs
Close Voyager
Find the folder where voyager stores your messages
Every account has its own directory
In your problem account you'll find an IMAP folder with lots of files, those are the cached messages, delete those files.
Start voyager, as you've deleted the cache files the messages will be downloaded again. This should cure the problem.
Dear All,

Every day I get a strange reading from the Voyager, which is set to check a gmail account: 10-12 "unread" messages appear in the upper left pane and the tray icon begins to spin (indication for "new mail"), however the ticker shows nothing new in the inbox and indeed there is nothing new in it.

The problem must be related to some custom folders I have set in gmail, in which there are 10-20 emails sorted as per their sender. These emails have been unchanged and have been sitting there for years, so there is nothing new concerning them.

When I press CTRL+M (mark all mail as read) all is fine for a couple of hours and then ten "new" messages appear, which are nowhere to be found.

Please, help!

Kind Regards,
