OK, got it fixed with a bit of odd behavior.

Quick Tip: Archive old email in your Gmail inbox the easy way | TechRepublic
<noindex>http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/google-in-the-enterprise/quick-tip-archive-old-email-in-your-gmail-inbox-the-easy-way/875</noindex>

So, at Gmail I searched for in:inbox before:2012/12/01

When the results came up I told Gmail to Archive ALL. Takes a while...

That left exactly 82 messages in my Gmail Inbox, going back to only December 1, as expected.

Then, clear out TheBat's IN.

Then re-pop Gmail.

Well, TheBat started getting the messages back to November 3rd for some odd reason. And it only picks up 30-40 messages at a time, so it's tedious to keep at it. 585 messages in all, not 82, so around 16 "Receive new mail" clicks. Why? But at least it's now up-to-date and not getting messages from years ago.

HELP me with Gmail confusion please in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Long story, but when I first ran TheBat to POP Gmail a couple of days ago, it picked up about 200 current messages. Why 200? Webbing into Gmail, I found that I only had 200 in my Inbox and over 30,000 of my old messages had been moved to the G Trash. So I told G to move everything out of the Trash back to the Inbox. Done, success. But now when I use TheBat to POP it's picking up hundreds of old messages at a time, and nothing new from today (when I have about 20 new messages). TheBat has been driven bat-crazy by the odd changes at Gmail.

Is there any way out of this loop? Gmail "Archive"? A pref toggle in TheBat?
