That Ctrl-M did it, only have one account. Now I can easily notice any new messages under the UNread tab. Thank you both Roelof and Rick.
Select the account root in the account tree pane and press Ctrl-M, this will mark all messages in that account as read.
I hope you don't have too many accounts as you've got to repeat this for all accounts.
There is also a series of tabs UNDER the folder column and one is "Unread"
Also under each ACCOUNT you can set a sound to play when new messages arrive. Perhaps a different sound for each account? It would drive me batty but it works for some
Thanks for the reply and info, Roelof.

====quote====
Roelof Otten wrote:
The option you're looking for isn't available.

I've configured TB to show a window in three parts: the account tree pane, the message list and a message preview.

In the account tree pane I can see the folders that got new messages and as I've ordered those folders in their importance, I just look for the topmost folder with new messages.
=============

I'm using the same panes view, if by 'account tree' you mean the account name at the top and then all the folders. But HOW do you see the folders that got new messages? I mean, they don't highlight or wiggle or twinkle or anything. The only way I could notice new messages in a folder would be to have my eye on the Unread number and notice a change. This might be easier if I had, say, 8 folders, but I have over 80 folders.

====quote====
If some of those folders are that important for you that you want to be informed about new messages getting filtered in those folders, you can set an additional action to the filters for those messages.
=============

This method is to me so complicated that I'd need you on a Skype and Teamviewer session. Well, actually it's not that bad, a simple script, but not if I have to do this for each filter.
The option you're looking for isn't available.
I've configured TB to show a window in three parts: the account tree pane, the message list and a message preview.
In the account tree pane I can see the folders that got new messages and as I've ordered those folders in their importance, I just look for the topmost folder with new messages.

If some of those folders are that important for you that you want to be informed about new messages getting filtered in those folders, you can set an additional action to the filters for those messages.
Suppose you've got a filter that sorts messages into the folder "cookies"
First you create a text file cookies.txt with the contents: "New cookies!!"
Now you add an extra action to your cookies filter and that extra action is "Run an external program"
Play a bit with the syntax to get it to run notepad.exe with your cookies.txt file.
Now the next time your favourite bakery sends you a message about a fresh batch of cookies, TB will sort the message in cookies and notepad will show you an additional window.
I'm still new to the client, but have set up a few incoming mail filters. When I pick up mail I might see "2 messages received" in the bottom Status bar, but nothing new in the Inbox. That tells me they were filtered. But where? Then if I click that Status bar I get the Account Log window, where I can scroll down to find the filtering information - what came in and where it went.

But isn't there any easier way? Something like my old client's Options/Getting Attention/Generate Filter Log checked, which would pop up a filter log window. I've looked for a setting for this but cannot find it.
