What happens when you configure TB as as your default simple MAPI client?
(Options -> Preferences -> Applications -> Simple MAPI)

TheBat and Metastock 9 problem maybe you'll find it usefull in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Recently, I discovered a problem with The Bat! (I’m 100% sure about this). The Bat is incompatible with another software I use – named MetaStock 9 (a technical analyze software for the stock market – see <noindex>www.equis.com)</noindex>

I have the bat installed as the default e-mail client on my system. I use winxp sp2 with all the updates installed.

Every time I started MetaStock 9 and tried to open a graphic for one of my stocks, Metastock crashes (attached you can fins the error message). I needed Metastock and I had to find a solution. I searched the web for my problem with metastock, but nothing.
It was time to take some serios action – so I formatted my hard-drive, reinstalled Windows XP with SP2, applied all the patches from Microsoft site, installed Metastock…and surprise – the software works like a charm.
Well…after that i installed MSOffice 2003 – Metastock works. I installed TheBat, set it as my default email client, restored my e-mail backup and...BIG surprise Metastock crashes…

So the problem may be with TheBat…
I set Outlok 2003 as my default e-mail client – Metastock works great. I switched back to TheBat – Metastock crashes.

Conclusion – if TheBat is set as a default e-mail client, there is an incompatibility problem with MetaStock 9. If TheBat is installed on the system but not set as a default client – everything is great.

I tried my theory on several computers – and everywhere I saw the same problem. I have TheBat! 3.0 professional edition...

if somebody else encountered the same problem, now you know to solve it - use TheBat but don't set it as the default e-mail client...

a nice day to you all
