Almost each application on the world creates different settings for different user even on the same system. If You used the bat as (just say) Igbar user, running the bat from administrator account - different than Igbar - will start whole startup operations but only for administrator account. The bat must be run under Your main account, not administrator.

The fact that upgraded version of TheBat runs on admin account means that TheBat is just fine and sound.
But not with Your current setting.

If it still doesn't work from Igbar some current settings are just incompatible with new TheBat. I don't think that normal user will be any of help. Please open new support ticket with this problem.
Your data can be anywhere but on win 7/8 it defaults to programdata file for data and Program 86 for the program. What version of window are you using and where is the data folder?
Thanks for the quick reply. When I log into Administrator and start TheBat it continues as if it was doing an install. Asks for accounts and defaults. Then Asks to create an account or restore.

The only way to stop the process is with Cancel. After that I am still unable to access TheBat in my regular user account.

My user account has always had permissions and has been working well for years. Not sure why the new install would act any differently.

Are you talking about the \program files (86)\TheBat folder?

I don't remember the exact account names so that won't work.

Will keep working at it
Ok - once you start in administrator mode you should be able to close and restart. Check the permissions on the data folder. If you are on windows 7 or 8 make sure the user account has permission to read and write (give it full permissions) If that doesn't do it, I know I have add my name to the folder and it's contents SPECIFICALLY that is even though I am in the administrator group, I still had to add "Rick" and give full permissions. I keep my data in the Programdata folder

On the way in, after you have done that you MAY have to point it to the data folder and perhaps recreate your account names and that will pull in all the other folders you have. You PROBABLY won't have to do that but I am trying to give enough information so you have several things to try.
So logged into account administrator and imagine my surprise TheBat tries to run there. It wants me to create a new account or restore data fr om an old backup. WHY!!!! The data is still all there. I the abiliity to 'upgrade' sw beyond ritlabs or something.

I am really not understanding why it tries to start in admin but can't start in my user account wh ere all settings are.

I have put a support ticket in this morning when this all happened but doesn't seem to be anyone at home all day.
Rick, thanks for that but after a dozen tries 'start as administrator' still not working

Any other thoughts on why this program does not work correctly?

Can i get back to the 4x I had that worked for years without this?
I have had that. Keep trying and start it as an administrator. Once it loads you can close it and open it the regular way
