Try CHECKING the box, closing and restarting the bat then unchecking it. I had it do that once. Cancelling it stopped the issue for me. Hopefully this will "reset" the unchecked box to off for you

But the problem is: there is no checkmark set !.  
TheBat starts the auto backup regardless of this setting.
THIS is the problem.

options -> preferences -> system -> auto backup

How can I get rid of the auto backup execution?

It is not set in the options and it is not set in the windows scheduler. So why is thebat permanently starting the backup procedure?

Apparently it's a bug (which goes through all past thebat-versions).
Please give advise, thanks!
