It's a bit odd, but that's an account property.
Therefore, you need to sel ect a common folder and select fr om the menu:
Account -> Properties -> Options
That's where you'll find it.
As I don't use common folders myself, I don't know whether this is a setting for all common folders or whether it has to be set for each common folder seperately.

Hello,        

My spouse use the TheBat home release.
I am re-installing her new computer.    

So! in the accounts parameters I check  " Mark message as read only when it is open in a separate window".
There is no such parameter in the properties of the common folders.

In fact, in the two cases when I put the cursor on the line of a mail in the message list it is ALWAYS marked as read even if I did not open the email in another window.

Is somebody who can tell me what's parameter I miss?
