Default Account How to make one account the default for sending in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Since I changed from the Mail folder under the appdata\Roaming\The Bat! everything has been fine.

I did hear back from tech support though. Here's what they said to change the default to my Gmail account:

"Set your Gmail account as your default account for "mailto:" URLs - in the menu "Account -> Properties -> General" check the option "This account is the default for "mailto:" URLs". It will then be automatically used when creating new messages from virtual folders."

Hope that helps.
As a followup, I had contacted tech support and their answer was what I already knew - either select the account in the options message editor or clicking on the account name at the bottom and selecting an account. I have replied back with more information and will post if they solve the problem.

I have moved to a new computer and so compared how TB works and its settings in both computers. On the old one my preferred account is always the account used when creating a new email but not on my new computer. The only significant difference between the two is in the Sorting office. On my old computer the account order under Common filters has my gmail account listed first and the new computer has the private domain listed first, which is the account used when I create a new email. It appears that TB picks the first account listed under Common filters.

My guess (and it's only that) is if the order in the sorting office can be changed the default account will be used. So, does anyone know how to do that?

EDIT; Maybe not. I found a folder Mail TB appdata folder that wasn't on my old computer. It appeared to be a duplicate of the folders and files under appdata\Roaming\The Bat!\ so I changed the mail directory to appdata\Roaming\The Bat!\. Doing so made my default gmail account show up as on the old computer but the Sorting office order did not have the gmail account listed first.

I don't know how the Mail folder got created on the new computer.
I know that if I select the account in the tree pane that is the account it uses. However I have an All Inboxes virtual folder that puts all 5 of my accounts together. In the past I'd click on create new email and the account was always my gmail account (which happens to be the first in the account pane). Now it starts with another private domain address, which happens to be the third one down. (I don't think the order ever had anything to do with it.)

I'd like to get back so that my preferred account it my gmail account.
TB's default is (and was) to use the account that's sel ected in the account tree pane.

However, you can set the account templates of the other accounts to use your main account.
You do this by adding this line to each account template:
%Account="main account"%-
Where you should substitute main account with the name of your main account. That should do the trick.
My suggestion would be to this only for the new message templates and not for the reply templates, I guess that when somebody mails you at one of your alternate addresses, you'd like to answer from the same address.

However, this means that when you want to send a message fr om one of your alternate accounts, you should start a new message, edit the body and only then should you switch the accopunt in the editor, otherwise it might be reversed again.
I was just going to post a similar question.

Before upgrading to v6.6 my preferred account was automatically chosen when I went to create an email. Now it comes up with another one (always the same) and I couldn't figure out how to set it back.

Default Account How to make one account the default for sending in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
I check four email accounts using The Bat, but I want one to always be the default for when I am creating a new outgoing message. I know I can change the account the message is being sent from by clicking on the bottom of the message and choosing which account, but many times I forget and it gets sent from the wrong account. Is there a way to mark one account as the default? I have one account checked as "use this account for "mailto: URLS", but I don't think that is doing what I want. Any suggestions? Thanks.
