I would like some idea of this as well.

I've been a The Bat user since version 1 point something and religiously paid for most upgrades. This was until some rather wierd upgrade eligibility purchase dates for v5 and 6 where I ended up paying twice within months for rather minor changes, which I thought was a bit of a rip-off for long standing customers.

As a result of the above, I've been waiting for a major version change before paying to upgrade again. However, everything seem to be stuck on incremental changes to v6 and I've no idea, if I buy v6 now, whether my licence will be valid for version 7. Any news?
