And start doing backups. Automated backups. Daily. Backup is boring; if it's not automated, it won't happen. Stuff happens.

i made do with the old backup and managed to extract some things from a partial newer backup, so i'll leave it at this .
Thanks for your help though.
And to the developers : not responding at all in your own support forum to a serious fault in your software ; this is why people get pirated programs , you pay for the software and then get no support.

Can you change the folder names back to the original to see if you can recover all the messages?

I renamed a folder ( , containing  many subfolders ) "book" into "book book"    this folder "book" had about 80 messages .
After a reboot all messages are gone.
ctrl,alt, shift l only gave back 2 folders.
My last backup is one month old........
