Replacing attachments in received e-mails

Replacing attachments in received e-mails in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
The trick, I think, is to drag (or safer: copy) the faulty message to your outbox. Then open it (you can now edit it) and replace the attachments. Save it, then drag it back to your inbox.
You can't edit attachments directly, but you can detach them, edit them, delete the original attachments from the email and drag in the new ones
Hello,

I'd like to be able to replace attachments in e-mails I have received. The typical case is when non tech savvy friends and family send me pictures straight from the camera, still weighing multi megs each. In this case, I'd like to batch process them through Irfanview to reduce them to about 100-200 KB each, remove the original attachments from the message, and import the processed ones back in the original message.
Saving them and processing them, I can do.
What I don't know how to do is modifying the received messages to replace the original attachments with the lighter ones.
Is it possible and if so, how ?

Thank you.
