Sorry for the long delay, but I've been on holiday.

That didn't solve the problem and didn't create a new file. However doing that to tbuser.EEF created a new file and solved the problem without losing anything.

This fix may cause you to lose all your customizations but ...
with the bat closed, go into the mail directory and rename "tbuser.DEF" to something.
Restart the bat (which will recreate tbuser.DEF) and see if the problem is resolved
If so, redo your customizations and you are done - just delete the renamed tbuser.DEF file. If not, delete the new tbuser.DEF and rename the old one back

I use backup and restore to port my emails between computers in different countries.

Each time it duplicates the extra buttons I have added to the toolbar. I have just been using 'configure' to remove them.
However they are now not appearing in the right hand column of configure, so can't be removed.

Any suggestions please.
