Installing fails The bat 3.x installer refuses to install. in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
I've found out the following news at the internet:

Microsoft has temporarily pulled the MSI 3.1 redistributable from their web site because of compatibility issues with certian applications. The knowledge base article with release notes has also been removed. The redistributable should be re-released "very shortly".

I've searched Microsoft Website for "Windows Installer Redistributable" and it seems that they've withdrawn the version 3.1. However, you are right that version 3.0 is icnluded into SP2. We will add the tip about the substed drives.
I have a subst to drive Z: for my "zipped masters". I first hit the problem with the MS Speech SDK msi and later with The Bat!'s msi.
That was a great tip, Marck. I was installing the msi from a subst drive. Doing it from the ordinary drive made installing it succesfully. Is this common to all msi installs????

I tried to get the latest Windows installer but it appears to be withdrawn by Microsoft. And XP SP2 seems to include already the 3.0 version.

Thanks for your replies. Maybe it's a good idea Maxim to include an installation tip for mapped and subst drives on the website.

JP.

1. Installing the latest version of Windows Installer Service (3.1) sometimes helps: <noindex>http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=889482fc-5f56-4a38-b838-de776fd4138c&DisplayLang=en</noindex>
2. If it still doesn't install, please send me the installation debug log file. You can create this log file by running msiexec /l*v file.log /i thebat_professional.msi

My e-mail is max@ritlabs.com, please send the log to e-mail, ZIPped.
I have found this happens when running any MSI installer from a mapped drive. Copy the MSI file to a local drive and try from there.
Hi,

I tried installing the bat 3.01 on my laptop. After the introduction and question screens in the installer I press "install" and immediately the setup returns with "The wizard was interrupted before the bat could be completely installed". Home and Pro both give the same error. What can be wrong????

JP.
