Application error after upgrading in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Thanx for answers
I don't use UAC also I have paused antyvirus software to be sure nothing interrupts The Bat processes.
During starting at the beggining is shown a window for a very short time in the centre of the screen and after that error occurs. This window exists for a small part of the second-too short to read, I have only noticed the word "Home".
It seems to be a bug of of the new version. I only hope newer versions will run ok.
I had a similar issue, <noindex>https://www.ritlabs.com/en/forums/forum4/topic13268/</noindex>, with Windows 10 (64 bit). I Upgraded last week to the last stable release and same issue. Version 8.2.8 (64-bit)
I use a slightly earlier version 8 on XP and it works fine.

When I google 'EOSError code 5', most search results refer to situations where an application cannot get access to a certain file.
Do you use UAC (User access control) on your system? If so, you may have to install or run The Bat with elevated (Admin) rights.

If that cannot explain it, maybe you could try the free <noindex>Process Monitor utility from Microsoft/SysInternals</noindex> to see which specific file The Bat is trying to access in vain. Or, create a support ticket for your problem to see if the developers have a solution.
Code: 5.

I use Windows XP, on the main site it is written it should work on my system.
Any help?
BTW-i have tried to use an option /nologo which I've found in the forum but still the same error.
Thanx for any suggestion.
