Tried your recommendation, but it is not doing anything beside spinning this blue wheel for an hour and not responding.

From my experience, assuming you did a backup from Tools>Backup, the restore should leave other messages untouched. However, if you would like a bit of security, you could highlight the existing messages in account and use Tools>Export to ensure those messages are not lost. Good luck,

thanks for the reply.
Maybe I wasn't clear enough.
I moved to a new hoster and and did a backup on all of my emails because I did not know how I can keep emails when moving to a new hoster.
Now, I need some of these backupped emails, but I am afraid when I recover them that all of my current active emails in that Inbox folder will be replaced with the ones from the backup.

You can highlight and drag messages to a desired folder or use the Tools>Import feature, but maybe that's not really what you're seeking.
