You might try Options>Preferences>MessageList>ViewMode and create your desired view mode and then click 'Use By...' and define the desired folders. Another option would be to just edit the Generic Mode. Good luck,
david.
Well, in short, somewhere in Message List configuration of the account I just want specify a single folder view that get applied to all of the folders within that account. Not to do it one by one. And then - if I want a different view mode for particular folders, over ride it with manually selecting this other view mode. But I just want to have one as default. Currently I have to do it 1 by 1 and it is super annoying.
Thanks!
I'm unclear of your intent. The help page states that the global view mode is only in effect until you restart the program, so I'm not surprised that it is not retained. One of the key features of TB! is that you can set specific views for different folders. For example, I have on view mode for incoming folders and a different mode for outgoing folders. I don't know how the generic view differs from the default view and to me they look alike. Once you specify some view modes, it's easy to then apply to specific folders with no need to specify each folder setting in detail. If you explain what you're trying to do, someone here may have a helpful suggestion. good luck
david
Hi, just a quick question. How to apply particular view mode, in my case Generic View Mode, to all folders?

When I start The Bat, in the menu under View, Global View Mode, there is always No view mode selected, even if I changed the setting prior closing the program.

However, even when I select Generic View Mode, it does not get applied. The only way how to apply proper column settings is to right-click on the headers and select appropriate option. And do it for every single folder in every account. :-/

If I have Global View Mode selected as Generic View Mode, it is even more complicated, as the view mode on the right click indeed is SELECTED, but it is NOT APPLIED. So I have select another view mode, and then select the Generic View Mode again - and only then the proper settings are taken into effect.
