virtual folders and searches - all from certain dates

virtual folders and searches - all from certain dates in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Another question.

Searches are a good way to get to Virtual Folders.

I did notice one interesting difference.

In Virtual Folders you can go OR followed by AND (probably the reverse to.)

OR
OR
AND

Afaik, this is not available in Searches. Presumably you have to learn some of the Boolean stuff like "I" to get to the same place. Would TheBat! parse the Boolean operator when going from Search to Virtual Folders?

Does all that sound right?
Now let me ask a more basic question.

If I want a virtual filter with ALL my mail, it is almost 100K.
I think TheBat! handles it, except maybe for the long delay after a reboot?

There is some sort of "memory" tag? - "Store State between sessions"
However, it may have limits, I assume that refers to the message list? - Right now I always have that checked.

Anyway, my guess right now is to leave virtual folders in the hundreds, mostly using the "Age" tag.
Then maybe it would all regen quickly on a reboot.

And use searching as the method for what would be any super-large virtual box.

Your thoughts?

ADDED: I've made the change to have the largest virtual about 2,000.

Steven
Oops! .. Hi!

The virtual folder features of TheBat! are really wonderful.

This thread I will likely use for a few questions, one or two at a time.

You can search by date range very nicely. I do not think that the Virtual Folders have any date possibilities. (They would be continually purging and adding each day.)

Let's say I wanted a virtual folder to show me all (or some) of the mail, all folders, today. Is there any way to do it, or fake it out?

Lacking that, a "Saved Search" would be very helpful.
(Another possibility would be an external macro, or whatever is good in that programmable realm from TheBat!)

Your suggestions welcome. Maybe I am supposed to begin with programmability?

Steven
