Thanks Marck, that's what we do right now.

We are back to version 3 until at least points 1a and 2 are done.

Thank you for your reply and a great support.

In answer to point 4, I have an additional account defined called "Archive" that contains additional folders. It has no conncetivity and no servers defined. It is full of archive folders. These folders are not defined to "Compress on exit". I can bring the full force of TB's search facilities to bear on these folders without the data in them impeding my working folders.

As for keeping them populated, I exploit TB's very nifty "Alternate delete" functionality to specify that purged messages from the main account folders are sent to specific folders in the Archive account. That makes the archiving entirely automatic.

The other points you raise are more issues for RITlabs to consider for future developments.
We are a medium size online company. Email is a major part of our business. All our employees use TheBat!. We really enjoy your program because it has many features that make our jobs easier. We receive about 300-500 (800+ if including spam) emails per day to different departments. The mostly used features/properties are search and sorting/filtering.

Sorting/filtering is perfect (great job!!).

Search: We have more than 160,000 emails in different folders. We need a good search system, that would be very fast to use. Most of the time we are searching for a whole history of emails about a particular client, so we have to search for his email address both in the sender(from) and the recepient(to) field. In the previous version we always selected 'To' and 'From' and it stayed this way. In this version we have to choose 'Sender' and the 'Recepient', select 'OR' condition, switch to 'Folders' tab and select a proper account or folder - for every search! We use search function hundreds times a day, this would considerably slower us.

1b. Is it possible to make the Bat to remember the last settings both in 'Options' and 'Folders' tabs? (Without using the 'Use previous conditions' option)

1b. Is it possible to somehow unite 'Options' and 'Folders'?

1c. In 'Folders', when I put a 'v' mark on a folder, is it possible to make all its subfolders marked two? Or atleast when you put 'v' on an account folder, then it should select all subfolders of that account (as it was in a previous version?

2. Is it possible to return back the full ability of sorting messages by clicking on the red flag, i.e. moving the red flagged messages to the top (or the bottom) and sorting other non-flagged messaged by date ('Received')?

3. Message-ID in the header of the email. Can this field be generated based on the specific identity information of the folder it was created at? and not based on the identity of the main account?

4. Is it possible to create some kind of a tool that could export (i.e. remove) emails from the Bat to some kind of a folder/file that could be searchable by another tool (same search like in the Bat)?
Something like a searchable archive that is external and will not slowdown Bat.

Let me tell you again that we have never seen any program that has so many powerfull features and abilities. This is the one of a few programs that is worth more than it costs. Keep up the great work!

Thank you in advance for your reply and your great email program.

Marko.
