Yup I did, but was told that currently its not planned for the roadmap

Hence my post here in the forums to see if this logical next step feature, as also already supported in MacMail and Outlook and other email clients, for security purposes, could get some traction

With The Bat! marketing itsself as the best secure email client, and continuously improving, I would like to suggest the following feature, which should be really easy to add given that 95% of the needed support for it is already present.

Currently The Bat! supports LDAP addressbooks.
Currently The Bat! supports S/MIME

However The Bat! does not support S/MIME detail lookup in addressbooks. (according to the very helpful staff of RitLabs who answered my support call)
All you need to support is an extra lookup attribute: UserCertificate;binary

This enables anyone with an LDAP key server to initialize secure  encrypted emails with any target that is seeded in the LDAP.
