Exactly! I wrote a post about it before, however no one replied.

After few days I had to revert to 3.0.1.

No worry, you can make backup, uninstall 3.5, install 3.0.1 and use backup.

Me too. I use threaded views all the time and now, well, its been said. Its not right.

I don't do every upgrade so I don't know when this came about but I just installed 3.5.25 and wish I didn't.

I completely agree. The new threading view is a bit of a step back in terms of useability. Now the thread header is useless, and I have to click on the thread header every time to get to the messages.  

Can I turn it back to the old way?

Before 3.5 I had my email settings to thread by Sender and sort by received time. This showed the first email in each thread, with a + sign to signify other earlier messages in that thread, but other recent threads were also visible. At the moment I can get 3.5 to show only the thread headings, necessitating a click to see the first or more messages, or the full expanded threads.

I'm sure there must be a setting to show what I used to have in 3.1, but if someone could give me a clue I would be very grateful.
