To make the new account active and visible in the tree, did you press Ctrl-Alt-Shift-L in The Bat after you had copied its folder?
George and Daniel,

Thanks for the suggestions. I found it easiest just to close TB, make a copy of the desired account file in the account home directory, change its name to that of the desired new account, reopen TB, then change the copied account's properties as desired in TB. It seemed to work like a charm without messing with backup and restore.

Ray
Or try Account | New | Restore From (button) ?

(I would do this off-line, to prevent that the new account immediately fetches mail -and deletes it from the server- that was intended for the original account)
I didn't try it myself, but I think it'll work: Did you try to make backup of needed to copy account, then do rename his source account and some other settings to another name and do restore from backup?

How to copy a TheBat email account in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
I have several accounts set up in TB, many with multiple sub-folders containing many emails. Occasionally I need to add a new account with the same sub-folder structure containing copies of the emails from an existing account. I would like to simply be able to create a copy of an existing account including all sub-folders and the emails they contain, then change whatever properties I need to in order to use a different set of servers and other settings.

However, I haven't been able to discover a way to make an entire copy and I always end up having to create an entirely new TB account, manually re-create the desired directory structure, then copy the emails one folder at a time from the existing account into the appropriate folders of the new account. This is a real time-consuming and error prone procedure. How can I copy the entire account at once?
