Search the forum for 'crash' and you'll find several threads with suggestions on possible causes and solutions. If you wish to discuss this further, please use one of these threads or start a new one.
I've been using TB Home since v7, and I can't recall a single release that didn't frequently crash with memory access violation errors — which is rather disappointing to see in a security-oriented application. <noindex>dickssportinggoods feedback</noindex> <noindex>www.lowes.com survey</noindex>
>> pertaining to the upcoming TB v10.
This is normal behavior. Every two year we have new version.

>> Due to the significant problems people are having with the current v9 release
v9-3-4 is the best for me now and I will be stay with this version before killing few new bugs that I find.
Yes, new html-editor from v9-4 isn't good now. Nevertheless RitLabs is going to fix this problems.
It may help if you describe your use (e.g., IMAP, POP) and describe more detail of your problem. There are a number of knowledgeable people on the forum. TB! has been around for 24 years with a strong customer following, so it's clearly no scam. However, it is a complex product with a steep learning curve. There have been many updates in recent months as the developers are transitioning to some new technology, so my personal preference is to NOT UPGRADE during this period if TB! is working satisfactorily. Also, we're volunteers here, so please respect that. I regret you are having difficulties.

david
Your product THEBAT! . I keep losing my inboxes when updating. I bought the program for my company. Your support didn't answer my question, it's been a few months now. Today again with the update of THEBAT program! he has failed. I believe you are a scammer and are charging money for non-working software. Version software: 9.4.1 The Bat! Professional Edition
I hate to be negative about something that has obviously had a lot of work put into it, but I uninstalled it a couple hours after installing it and plan to open some tickets when I get a few extra minutes.

In a related problem, when I tried to uninstall v9.4 and reinstall v9.3.4, even though it says it succeeded, the GUI and behavior is still that of 9.4 and it reports 9.4 in the "About" window. I don't think this is necessarily peculiar to v9.4 since I've had similar "install older version" problems in the past on several different computers. How do you "really" uninstall it? I imagine some registry tweaks are necessary but I don't know what they might be and I can't afford to lose all my email histories playing with it.
Yes I've noticed shortcuts missing also in V7, I've noticed some bigger change in icons design, but only in V9, so that souldn't affect smaller icon possibility
>> Ah, are you kidding me George
Am I do?)))

I don't like this too. And wait few months on 8 version because they're kill it shortcuts. Now I can do my own shortcuts and dont' worry about small icons. Wait a fix from vendor or not to wait - this is a question, yes.
Ah, are you kidding me George...I needed to switch to V9, because of error access violation (crash of auto processing folders), which should be solved in V8, but wasn't. Now in V9 icons...really don't understand why these are BIG, on smaller devices like 13" laptop it's not OK
Hi,

just want to be sure, that I'm not only one, who can't change size of icons on toolbar? It was possible in V7 but it's not anymore in V9 :( there is very limited customize of all the icons from V8.
<noindex>https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Q5MZwHSuBPRv3OL8IA3kYmiKGfVd6U6A/view?usp=sharing
https://drive.google.com/file/d/10YRr0BOj3vkFzhCLmoD4G8AS6j41JJWf/view?usp=sharing</noindex>
Please check both config windows compared...
Also tried last version 9.1.6, there was added Options "button", but it is plain...so maybe they are working on it?!
<noindex>https://drive.google.com/file/d/16jH79q1raHWDMVBc1Mp_82dvDVlH6cJe/view?usp=sharing</noindex>
Same here. Version 8.x was probably the most neglected version of the program up to date - 2 updates in 2019 is a joke. I will NOT update for this price even if I have to migrate to some other email client. Update should me much cheaper than it is for now - I'm purchasing it for years, spent a lot of money for it. But I will no longer support Ritlabs - I get nothing for the money. Sorry.
I really like TB and the support is amazing. I usually support the software I use on a daily basis by automatically upgrading. However, as others have said, the upgrade price is too steep and v9 has nothing I need. My backup and multibooting software often goes for 5 years or more without a major version number increase.

The HTML formatting system is a real mess. It really needs improving so that things we take for granted, for example copying formatting styles, is easier. In general, TB has so many settings, it would be handy to be able to 'copy' an existing account's settings rather than have to manually configure each new account to act the same way.

In spite of the above, I would still upgrade for a better discount. As it is, as v8 works fine and is still supported, I'm staying with it until I either have to upgrade or until a version appears that has new features that would benefit me.

Cheers

DrT

Additional:- Also not happy that there are fixes for v8 in v9! To be smart, either the fixes should not have been specified, should not even be mentioned or delayed until a later version in the v9 series to lose the connection with v8. Add to that that all the bugs I have reported have remained unfixed.
I appreciate the continued development of The Bat and will buy a v9 license for sure.

Having said that, I am keeping my fingers crossed that the Workspace / Customize Toolbars / Shortcuts option (present in v8 and before) will be reintroduced. I am using an Apple Magic keyboard 2, and it sucks to have to use Fn+delete instead of delete to delete emails.

Other minor glitches include messages shown up to 3 times in a Virtual folder (that I use to aggregate 2 inboxes) - with the "to:" column showing it was only received on one email account, and only showing once when switching from he Virtual folder to the logical Inbox view.

Please keep up the good work + happy new year 2020!
I couldn't log in to my Gmail account. I have 2 factor autho set up and when I'm taken to Gmail login I enter my email address and then in the next screen I enter my password but it doesn't proceed. I get a message that the browser isn't supported and cant refresh or click on the more info link. That's as far as I get.TB v9.0.8 on Windows 10. I've tried making two different browser default but that doesn't make a difference.
Thankfully I haven't had problems with TB but this last couple weeks I've been trying to set up a Thunderbird IMAP connection but couldn't get Thunderbird to connect. I use 2 step authorization and followed all the normal steps but no go. Then all of a sudden it worked and has been fine. This was on a Windows 10 computer.

I'll try to set up TB on that computer next time I'm at it and see if I have any problems. Will report back my results.
The issue may be slow in being resolved because it doesn't appear consistently and that may bring into question whether it's a bug or a configuration issue. I've used TB! since version 7 with never a problem with Gmail, either in Win 7 or Win 10.
