Martin,

It's OK, I would probably reacted the same if I was
you. My advice is that you get one experienced friend
who you trust and tell him what I told you. Let him
do the driver reinstallation and eventual The Bat!
reinstall. You won't lose any data (mails), only the
files will be refreshed.

I hope we'll hear from you again, once you solve the
problem. Good luck!
Thank you. Your answer sounds convincing, but for my level of experience, quite high risk. I don't want to risk disabling more than The Bat!

Anyway, I have to wait a week before I can sit down with it again, so it is web mail if anything.

Thank you again.
> THEBAT caused a general protection fault
> in module NV4DISP.DRV at 0001:00004c7a.

This part says that TheBat! has problem with your
nVidia display drivers.
It might be that you installed drivers and then TB,
without rebooting.
Try reinstalling TB. If it won't help, try reinstalling
(or, even better, download newest version) you display
adapter drivers. (I'm guessing it's GeForce4, by the
filename)

You will find new drivers here:
<noindex>http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp</noindex>

Just select the right options in the three steps.
Then 'go!' and 'agree'... and install :)

Hope this helps!
I installed Bat 3.5.25 Pro over the previous version last night. It worked at the time. This morning the program displays the splash screen and then puts up Close or Ignore. The error message is:

THEBAT caused a general protection fault
in module NV4DISP.DRV at 0001:00004c7a.

My system is Win98. When I looked in Add/Remove Programs with a view to removing the new version, and re-installing the old one, TheBat, does not appear in the list of removable programs.

I have tried renaming the BayesIT directory without success.
