I am very new to TB. So far I haven't been able to figure out how to expunge messages from my IMAP server from within TB. I mark messages for deletion within TB then I have to go to my web browser --> the IMAP server --> manually expunge messages marked for deletion. How can I expunge messages from my IMAP server from within TB?
Hi Tim,
thanks for the reply!

Yes, when using IMAP, the email stays on server even
after the 'delete' mark was set. Until 'expunge' is
called, even the deleted messages stay on server.

But the problem is that I cannot get any messages from
the server. TB reports messages in mailboxes, but from
some reason won't download them. That's the main
problem. I cannot access this mailbox via POP, IMAP
only... so it's quite a big problem for me :(
Sinisa,

I thought - I havn't tried this with TB!- That using IMAP the data stays on the email server, in those folder structures and doesn't get pulled down to you normal TB drive (you in effect just view it)
Don't you setup your email server and TB to use POP3 to pull the data down to your local TB and C: drive - I did this recently with IMAIL from IPSwitch..

====quote====
IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol. It is a method of accessing electronic mail or bulletin board messages that are kept on a (possibly shared) mail server. In other words, it permits a "client" email program to access remote message stores as if they were local. For example, email stored on an IMAP server can be manipulated from a desktop computer at home, a workstation at the office, and a notebook computer while traveling, without the need to transfer messages or files back and forth between these computer
=============

I hope there is someone here that had the same problem
as I so.... so you can help me :)

The problem is as follows: The Bat! checks my IMAP
server for several mailboxes - inbox, user and
user.data (the subfolder of 'user').
It checks the messages from inbox and downloads them
as it should. But won't download from 'user.data'! :(
It just checks, and in the log I see:

+6/3/2005, 16:31:54: FETCH - IMAP server authentication OK, server says "User logged in"
*6/3/2005, 16:31:54: FETCH - 74 new messages detected in 3 mailboxes
+6/3/2005, 16:31:55: FETCH - connection finished - 0 messages received

... :(
Why, WHY won't it download messages from subfolders? :(((

Help! :(

Just to add: It all worked fine until a month ago.
Then I was sure I can fix whatever happened, but now
I know I can't :( And, as far as I can remember, there
were no settings changes...
