POP/IMAP hybrid like Thunderbird

POP/IMAP hybrid like Thunderbird in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
I assume you're referring to an IMAP account where the mail is downloaded to PC. TB! does that. If I'm offline, the messages are still there. However, if I delete fr om online, it disappears from PC. Which is what I want, so I'm confused. I tried this also on Thunderbird with identical results. It will help if you define how your account is defined in Thunderbird. I can understand POP wh ere the setting is to keep on server. I don't use POP, so have no experience there.
The free Thunderbird mail has a very nice option which TB maybe has too, but I can't find it.

It acts like POP because all messages are stored on my PC.
It acts like IMAP because if I delete a message on my PC, it also gets deleted from my Gmail account (but not the other way around).

Can TB do something like that?
