Because you can be a wife of man, who's try to steal this password for reading his emails (lunes of jealosy), and counterwise, or industrial spy/etc/etc. You will never see your password in TB! settings.

Seeing Password in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Why: it's a holdover from past beliefs. Twenty, thirty, forty years ago, people thought shoulder surfing was a major way passwords got stolen. By the time behavioral researchers showed that a much bigger problem was the use of very simple passwords due to the difficulty of typing complex passwords, the idea that passwords MUST be hidden was ingrained throughout the industry, and mostly untouchable.

My usual solution: store the password somewhere else, copy and paste when I need it.

Edward

Seeing Password

Seeing Password in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Why are most companies anal about showing the passwords?

You are alone, no one within miles, yet they won't show you the password you either type, or are looking at!

I recently changed my password temporarily for one account.
I need to see if it is correct. How can I do it in The Bat? It is hiding it from me.
It is not logging in so I assume the password is not right.

Thanks
