The latest beta version of The Bat that was released for testing today includes a provision for the Google problem:

====quote====

Version 9.3.2.6 is available

<noindex>https://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/beta/tb9.3.2.6-x32-full.7z</noindex>
<noindex>https://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/beta/tb9.3.2.6-x64-full.7z</noindex>

<noindex>https://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/beta/tb9.3.2.6-x32.7z</noindex>
<noindex>https://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/beta/tb9.3.2.6-x64.7z</noindex>

Here is a short list of changes:

[*] It's now possible to sort address groups in the group selector dialog
[-] Deleted shortcuts were not properly stored/restored
[-] Set CEF user-agent field to avoid GMail login failure
[-] UTF-8 decoding could fail on texts with emojis
=============

Hopefully this will solve the problem. If so, the next regular release should work properly again, too.
Well, to Ritlabs' credit, it used to work fine and it seems that it was Google that broke it (yet again) by changing something.

Usually, when there are gmail related problems, there are complaints from many more users, but it could be that google has only implemented the changes in a few of it servers for now, and the problem will spread to other users in the weeks ahead.

It would probably be helpful if you submit this problem to Ritlabs through the 'Support' menu above. If you do, please point them to this topic and include a log file of the failed log-in (I don't use IMAP myself, but there may be options for verbose loggng and for protocol logging, just like POP3 accounts have).
yes - imap TLS on port 993

i see that on polish board <noindex>http://thebat.pl/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2758</noindex> another person have exactly the same error less secure app force account to turn off 2FA etc - its NOT RECOMMENDED method

yes - i tried to use IMAP via thebat but still cant get it to work.
Thebat need to change way to get the oauth pasword - copying the oauth link into firefox or cgrome allow me to get the key but there is no way to manually put it back - using internal " browser" dont work as TheBat use MODDED CEF for delphi not original CEF and that prevent google to acces account directly
