Did you ever figure this out?  Seems there are no settings to purge IMAP folders.

I guess I'm getting old (at least that's my excuse), but I can't find the options for controlling Purging.  Specifically, the one where you could set the # of days a message would be kept before it could be purged.  I can't find it in the Account or Folder options.
