I don't use it "always" checkbox and prefer to control images by the rules. Please ask a support about that delays.

I do have "automatically for all sources" enabled in options. I expected this would download the images as a background thread as they arrived, so they were there as soon as I clicked to read a message. However, when I click on an unread message, there are initially grey boxes, or a blank message for several seconds and then the graphics appears. This was OK in 9.4.3.

Forgive me if this has been discussed before, but what has changed in 9.4.4 to make image downloads so slow? When I click on an email I have to wait some 5 seconds for it to appear and deleting a number of messages takes a very long time. I am aware of the image manager, but before, it just used to download very happily by itself. Can I not ask TB to download the images as they come in as a separate thread, rather than when I click on a message?
