Here is an upd ate for my case and it may affect others.

I got a clue when trying to set up on another Email Client that seemed somewhat  near to what I like about The Bat.

I was having the same issues of not being able to Retrieve Mail. The other support Desk suggested I try personal account but as I had been doing this I thought I would try business and school account.  That one worked, even though to my knowledge I had never se t up a school or business account.


I achieved the above having uninstalled The Bat and deleting all associated files.  I had backed up my address book, but it came up in the address book as well but only with email addresses.
So far it seems to be working well

Well, the normal procedure would be for the host to provide their customers with a current set of login instructions/requirements, and for the customers to try and setup their email client (latest version) accordingly. If that has failed, please open a support ticket (see 'Support' in the menu above) and include your host's new requirements to see if Ritlabs can help, or if they have plans to incorporate the new login method soon.

I've been using The Bat! for 20+ years, and am currently using Version 8.8.9

My email is hosted through GoDaddy, and I got an email from them saying, A service your email relies on to function will no longer be supported  by Microsoft after 07/05/2022. You'll still be able to access your email through your browser, but not from an email client, such as Outlook or Apple Mail — don't worry, none of your emails will be lost.  


It appears from looking at their website that Microsoft is dropping support for IMAP and POP as they don't think they are secure anymore, and will be using Exchange instead (not sure what that means, to be honest).  Here's a link to their support page about it.


My question is, can I still use The Bat! with the newer protocol?  If I upgraded to a later version, would it work?  Having used The Bat! for this many years, I really don't want to change.  Any help/info is appreciated.
