He's not saying that. It's only the OAUTH authentication that makes use of your system browser.

I am missing something here.  How can I use TB in a browser?  The entire point of having it is to have my email on my machine.

I'm afraid a browser is the only way. Never happened to me, but a few things I would try:

- If you're using TB v10 or below, upd ate to the most recent v10 version 10.5.4. If you're using v11 you should be fine.
- Run a different browser to the one you're usually using, se t it as the default browser, and log into your Google account. Then try TB OAUTH authentication. Chrome and Firefox should work.

A window with OAUTH authorization pops up, when I try to log in, it says "the browser is not secure"and when I click "Log in in the system browser", a folder with temporary files opens instead of the browser

How else can I get the authorization code?
