My 2c: I've submitted quite a few bug reports and feature requests to TB! support over the years. EVERY SINLE ONE was successfully resolved and implemented. Sometimes it took days, sometimes weeks, sometimes months, obviously depending on severity and difficulty of the issue. Also obviously, all requests were reasonable.

Let that sink in: every single one.

Yep. Whole this thread say is just about that TB! better than any other email-client. Do you can imagine that some other competitor soft will fix any new problems within a few weeks?

And I'm glad that some heretics goes away from TB! to some competitors. That's not our comrades, we don't need them here.

Needs to understand that ugly big boss companies likes to kill availabilty of their services to some alternative email clients, just because they are rude animals that want to oblige using only their soft. RitLabs already fix not only that problem and not only with this software company, as you know from forum threads. Try to use it "not so big vendor" post servers — that a better fix of all future problems.

I do not allow discussion of competing products. That's not censorship, it's simple politeness. Ritlabs is kind to offer us this platform and we should not abuse their hospitality. Also, I don't want competitors to come over here and use our forum for advertising or to create chaos, as I've seen happen with other products.

For me, this is the straw that broke the camel's back. I've been using TheBat! for 25+ years, but this is too much, and it shows how poor support this software has. I submitted a ticket four days ago, and all I've got is "The issue is caused by the recent changes on Microsoft's servers - we will soon release a version with a fix for this issue."  Not even a hint of when this will be solved.

Can anyone recommend an email client where it is decently easy to migrate all my folders? 25+ years of saved emails is the only reason I've been tolerating TheBat.

I'm facing the same dilemma whether to change programs. As much as I have been using Bat for 20 years, I can't afford that every month or two, MS accounts (of which I have about 10) stop workin or make me authorize myself every 2 minutes. I waste time and nerves writing to support, looking for solutions, tweaks or other hacks to make my mail work.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I was UNABLE to get app passwords to work correctly. At first, it was a problem finding HOW to create them, which is why I documented it. Once created, I was unable to get them to work, I assumed because we have a Microsoft business account, which enforces certain restrictions which are hard to find and disable.

LATEST NEWS:
Fix 1: Bat Support has published an app update which address Microsoft OAuth issues. They have shared the release with me (v.11) via support ticket. It is not published on the Downloads page, so please create a support ticket if you need the update. (Unfortunately, the update did not fix the issue on my Win10 PC. Next, I will try a full install and fresh reinstall of The Bat.)

Fix 2: I was able to get authentication to work for version 10.3.3.16 (not v.11) by creating/updating an App Registration in Entra ID, creating a Conditional Access policy in Entra ID (requires Entra ID P2 subscription) which allows users from specific IPs (our office IP) to bypass MFA, and assigning The Bat app registration to Conditional Access policy. I am saving these steps in case of future issues with Microsoft OAuth2 authentication.

I got the same reply from Support. To help, I created a Microsoft account and sent it to them in my ticket. I also tried learning Pascal/Delphi over the weekend to see if I could either diagnose the problem or create a successful connection. OAuth2 is a complicated process for me right now... Any programmers want to collaborate with me?

Unfortunately I got exactly the same response from support, it seems like they have already thought of a standard response.
While I still can't access email using Thebat. I don't know who the solution depends on but in this case I think that support is not up to the task. It's a big shame since I still think Thebat is a great email client.

Open a ticket with The Bat Support. (I already did.)

I am having the same problem, starting May 6, only in Microsoft hosted IMAP (OAuth2) email. Three other users I know have the same issue. GMail also uses OAuth2 but The Bat is able to receive/send email without issue. Only Microsoft accounts are affected.

This issue also happened one year ago around May 20, 2024. Bat support informed me it had something to do with a certificate on the backend and it was fixed two days later.

This outage has now lasted 4 workdays   . Thunderbird is able to access Microsoft email, but I prefer the features in The Bat and would rather not migrate all my folders. It's unclear whether this was a change on Microsoft's backend, or something with The Bat.

Or maybe someone is embracing this oauth2 from Microsoft? I wonder if it is possible to manually enter the data in the link https://login.microsoftonline.com/common/oauth2/v2.0/authorize (which TheBat prepares) just to change possible parameters to make the link accepted as valid. I've done a bit of testing and for a different "scope" the authorisation passes, but I don't really know how to use it.

It could be that Microsoft tweaked something in their OAUTH2 authentication procedure (I don't use it so can't verify). Best to contact  support using the link above.

I have the same problem on two different o365 accounts. Logging into them has not worked for a few days.

Hello,
O365 account was working till few days ago it started to ask for login.
When i enter my username(email), then password, then MFA (tried both MS auth app and SMS password) it opens just white screen:

I have tried to copy top link into few browsers where i was logged in already, and fresh page where i needed to login, but still white window and nothing.
I have tried to setup on different computer, different Bat version (trial), but still same issue.

Maybe somebody faced this kind of issue?
