Try this: go to Options -> Preferences -> Other options -> Character Sets (XLAT), and turn off US-ASCII (as well as all other "small" character sets you don't want to use).

Hello,

is it somehow possible to disable the automatic setting of the character set when sending mails?
For example, if I set UTF-8 as the standard character set, but then only use ASCII characters, the mail is sent with charset=us-ascii.
Although ASCII is of course a subset in this case, I would like UTF-8 to always be used/specified in the header.
Is this possible?
