Is The Bat! still alive? Will more versions be released or will we suddenly get a number upgrade and associated payment?
I also see that it is no longer possible to download all versions from the archive, this used to be the case I think. Downgrading to any random version is therefore no longer possible unless you have saved old versions yourself.
I rolled back to v11.3, and v11.4 is also serviceable in my experience. In v11.4.1 they introduced a major new version of CEF which causes all sorts of problems.

I don't know if you're aware, but you can make TB look and feel pretty much exactly like v1, see here: <noindex>https://www.ritlabs.com/en/auth-forums/forum4/topic14738/message56884/#message56884</noindex>

So if you ever decide to give v11 another chance, you can customize it to your linking. Some of the tips above may be applicable to v9 as well.
Windows 11, TB! v11.4.1 (and back to v9.5.1)

Hello,

After submitting several "tickets" for support regarding issues I've been having with my recent "upgrade" to v11.4.1, with no satisfaction as of yet, I've gone back to using my older v9.5.1, and I'm now much happier. On several levels...

First, the obvious bugs I've been experiencing with this new version:

1) large blocks (up to paragraphs) of text I'm typing into a draft suddenly disappearing without noticing anything I've "done wrong", and having to "undo edits" in order to retrieve.

2) Opening folders to see that the currently selected--or newly received, and just selected--message is "blank" in the preview pane (must click on some other message, then come back and click on first intended message to hopefully finally see it).

3) Trying to open messages (new or old) and either immediately or after a few seconds receiving a blank page save for the "Aw, snap!" Access violation page, with a "reload" button that only sometimes works.

4) TB! not responding to disabling "start with Windows startup" option in "preferences". Still starts right up at Windows startups -- even after several restarts.

5) And finally, while I've so far skipped over v10.x, so I can't comment on it, I do find the new "graphic interface -- especially the preview pane and "open message" window presentation to be quite ugly (and perhaps all this "fancy" presentation is contributing to some of the issues mentioned above?).

I've been using TB! since the earliest versions of v1.x (late '90s), and this "new look" is really bothering me. One thing I've always loved about TB! was the option to have a truly "plain text" client that worked reliably, and presented the written word clearly and without hassle.

Of course, I had my issues when it transitioned into handling HTML, but with the available options, managed to get around that well enough, and it didn't disturb my usual preferences once set up the way I liked it (still primarily working with plain text for both writing and reading).

Back to v9.5.1...

No glitches as mentioned above. Back to plain text presentation of headers and messages (much less ugly). Proper response to "preferences" back to normal. And, checking for new messages in all or in particular accounts is *much* faster.
