I don't have experience in "massaging" OAUTH to work when greyed out, see if some tips from here help: <noindex>https://www.ritlabs.com/en/auth-forums/forum4/topic13689/</noindex>

Ultimately, you can contact support using the link above, they should have more definitive answers.
Thanks for all the input.
I am trying to setup a second sky.com/yahoo as imap email to try <noindex>Miloš</noindex> suggestion but it uses oauth and the oauth option is not active in the authenticate box and it says 'for servers that use oauth like yahoo it is needed to restart app' but whenever I restart the bat it is just the same as before, oauth option not available and restart message. I have been looking in the help section on configuring accounts and various posts but can't find where I am going wrong, I have tried using the oauth password that was generated on yahoo instead of the normal password but nothing working.
On new versions "dispatch mail on server" don't works normally (bugged), may be this feature can helps topicstarter if he using some non-v11 TB!
>> Reverting to POP will just have more and more problems as time goes on
One of benefits from using POP3 that you have stored your messages even they deleted by mistake on server.
2nd benefit that search works fast from your HDD

Like Milosh says - nobody can't stop you to use it both of protocols on one way or another.
In my experience, The Bat handles IMAP very well. I have a filter on my email server (fastmail.com) which copies all incoming email to an archive folder, which acts as a backup as well as meaning that I can treat my primary inbox as ephemeral.

Plus, deleted IMAP messages are in a Trash folder.

IMAP is the direction the world is going, and has been for 25 years. Reverting to POP will just have more and more problems as time goes on. One benefit of IMAP is that webmail is a backup interface.
Thanks, will have a try.
I have been using IMAP for years but just had a bad experience, 'Essential pim' decided to delete all my messages and cleared all the online ones at the same time.
If you're referring to the Junk folder on the server side, the POP protocol cannot see it, since by its nature it does not "understand" the concept of folders. It only downloads messages from the server's Inbox.

What I did to get around this limitation is to create a separate TB account which connects to the same e-mail server, only through IMAP, and use it primarily to view the Junk folder and move messages to the Inbox (of the same IMAP account) if needed. Then the POP account is able to download them.

Or just use IMAP all the way.
