So this is a solution to the Gmail problem.
>> This way you're basically emulating "Any message", no?
Yep. Some version of TB years ago had bug with "any message" on my side That's an alternative for it.
The filter itself could be of type "Incoming mail" or "Selective download", I'm not sure which would be appropriate.

A crude alternative: you could also tell TB not to synchronize the Bin folder at all in the IMAP settings.
You can do sorting filter with actions "mark messages as read" in TheBat! and define some condition for mark all new such a letters in the box (for example "subject not contains" = #$%&#*$*#& )

I do use AquaMail on Android, this app have settings to mark as read messages that you move to trash.

Don't show the count of unread messages in the folder tree How to hide the count of unread messages as this information is useless. in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Hi all,

I use The Bat and the standard GMail mobile application to connect and read messages in my GMail mailbox. Mostly I read email via The Bat, but when I am not next to the computer I do it fr om the mobile phone.

It is not uncommon situation when I receive some useless update from somebody that I don't even read and delete on my mobile phone by swiping it in the list of messages in the Inbox. GMail moves this message to the Bin folder, but keeps it in the Unread status. After that I get to my computer, start The Bat and it displays that my email account has unread messages, also it shows the Bin folder that has unread messages. So I have to go manually to the Bin folder and mark the messages as read.

This is ridiculous. Since I deleted these messages I don't want to spend any time on them. I delete them because I don't want to do anything with them anymore, but The Bat is essentially forces me to go back to these messages.

Is there a way to disable displaying the count of unread messages in a folder? Is there a way to disable displaying of the count of the unread messages in the mailbox if the only unread messages are the messages in a folder wh ere such display was disabled?

Unable to attach images to this message, so there is a link to the screenshot that outlines the issue and what I want to do.

<noindex>screenshot</noindex>
