TB displays links in the classic preview pane without problems. Check Options -> Preferences... -> Viewer/Editor: maybe the plain text viewer is used to view all messages. I recommend using the HTML viewer for both plain text and HTML messages, as switching between viewers (plain text and HTML) tends to slow things down. You may also need to deselect Use Plain Text Viewer in the View menu.

I keep coming back to 'The Bat!' every few years for a trial but can never seem to get it setup as I would prefer.
In the current version I prefer the classic preview but it does not show any links to web pages, as the non-classic view shows, is there any setting that will give me something like pure plain text but showing links?
