Thank you. I was having a mental block. Once I opened the addressbook, it became immediately obvious that I had starred those. Once unstarred, the problem disapapeared. I hadn't used that feature for years.

Put your cursor on to: field then press ALT+⬇️ press down to not needed address and press delete

When I click the button to create a new message, there is a drop-down of email addresses of previous recipients. How can I clear that list? Thank you.
