Mouse wheel Scroll in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
I get this error when I hover the mouse cursor over the URL.
I completely uninstalled TheBat and reinstalled it, but only restored accounts without settings from the backup, and the error persisted.
Alexander Petrari from support responded to me, but he was unable to reproduce the issue, which was very strange. I sent him an email with a sample and a demonstration of the error, including a gif of the screen.

Hidden Text

<noindex>https://drive.google.com/file/d/19uAFwxI6UyEOYfPSVvZJ3-HkU5trNgKk/view?usp=sharing</noindex>

Yeah, nag them, but politely. When they latch onto something and reproduce the problem, they usually fix it quickly. When they don't, it can linger for a long time...
OK folks, I did some testing on v12.0.3 (64-bit, Windows 10 22H2). It's not so simple:

Scrollwheel and the message list: skips the expected number of lines (in my case 8), both in by-column and summary view.

Scrollwheel and the message viewer: there are many possible combinations. I focused on the classic preview.

Text messages viewed with the plain text viewer: skips the expected number of lines.
Text messages viewed with the HTML viewer: both CEF and the alternative viewer skip more lines than expected, about 2.5x.
HTML messages viewed with the plain text viewer: skips the expected number of lines.
HTML messages viewed with the HTML viewer: both CEF and the alternative viewer skip more lines, but it's kind of all over the place. For HTML messages it is often hard to determine what exactly is "a line of text". But usually the viewers skip more than I would subjectively expect.

I experienced the erratic behavior of the side bar only with the alternative HTML viewer, with CEF and the plain text viewer it worked normally.

So, it would seem that the plain text viewer is behaving as it should, while both HTML viewers tend to "overshoot", and the alternative HTML viewer has a buggy sidebar.

Side note: scrolling on the laptop track pad worked very well across the board.
I uninstalled v12 so I cannot verify, but it is not surprising since the devs have been tinkering with DPI issues, and also made some adjustments for font default size settings late in v11, introducing other bugs along the way.

I never saw any wheel settings in TB, so this is surely a new bug.
I have my layout as full height account tree on left, message list at top right, and message preview at bottom right.

Since updating to 12.0 64 bit, my mouse wheel scrolls too many lines. It used to follow the windows setting of three line per wheel scroll.

Is there a setting in TheBat! to control how far it scrolls when you move the wheel?

My wheel still behaves correctly in all other apps.

ETA:
Actually the Message preview window slider bar is erratic too, it scrolls too little or too much when I pull on it.
The only way to move accurately is to use the scroll bar up and down buttons.

If there is no setting (that I cannot find) I'll move this to bugs.
