Lurk your filters. May be you have in some of them "parking" condition.
There is a single e-mail address to which I send messages with some frequency. It's a gmail address. When I send the message, I wind up with between 2 and 10 partial messages (prior to when I finish composing) in the sent folder, with the park flag enabled. The final message also is in the sent directory, without the park flag. I have many other gmail addresses to which I send messages where this does not happen. It's just this one address. And, it happens every time. Outlook IMAP account.

It's annoying.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.
