It looks like Bit Defender's firewall function blocks TB or it tries to proxy TB's mail collection.
Configure Bit Defender to leave TB alone, as I don't use Bit Defender I can only suggest you to study its manual.

When i have installed Bit Defender, my mail program stopped working properly. It shows : Connection to host broken (last commands sent were: "STAT", "QUIT"). Where is the problem?
