Restore Problem V3.60

Restore Problem V3.60 Address Books lost in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Problem fixed.

Though this is very weird. I completely uninstalled TB, flushed the registry, reinstalled WITHOUT on-the-fly encryption, and restored the week-old backup. This time I got a number of error messages about invalid window$ handles, EOSError, Access violation errors, shut down TB, restarted at and then opened the address books and every thing looks pretty good.

There's some flakey stuff going on inside TB that is affecting my confidence in the system. Some one should take a look. This is not as robust as I had believed over the last 11 years.

Restore Problem V3.60 Address Books lost in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
I am a registered use of The Bat! v. 3.60. I use it in the 'encrypt on the fly' mode. Everything has worked fine for months. Today it does not. At 1st TB would fail after I entered my master password. I got a major program failure dialog from windows requesting me to notify them. I tried repairing and then removing and reinstalling and still the same problem came up.

Then I uninstalled everything, flushed my registry, and deleted my TB folder. I just tried starting from scratch and everything works until I tried to use my old folders which I transfer between home and work on my thumb drive. The Bat! then ran but I cannot seem to be able to read my old files (which are, of course, encrypted). I went home and tried on my home computer and got the same problem.

The I found a backup that I made last week and it almost works. I was able to recover all of my old messages but my two main address books will not come back.

When I did the restore I got some error messages which debug information. I suspect that they are for the 2 address book files. Any ideas on how to recover these address books? Tfhey are essential for my business.

Many thanks.

Tom
